Most ocean plastic doesn't come from boats — it comes from rivers. Our Sponsor a River program installs river traps at key points in Tanzania's waterways to catch plastic and other debris before it flows out to sea. The captured material is removed, sorted, and processed.

We pair the river traps with staff-led beach clean-ups in critical coastal areas, working alongside coastal communities and partners.
